Privacy Policy

Who we are

Churchverse (churchverse.app) is a community management platform for churches: member directories, attendance, meetings, events, and communication. Each church that uses Churchverse controls its own community's data; Churchverse stores and processes that data on the church's behalf.

Information we collect

• Account information - when you sign in (including Sign in with Google) we receive your name, email address, and profile photo.
• Community profiles - churches record member details such as name, phone and WhatsApp number, email, birthdate, gender, residence area, marital status, education or career, a photo, attendance history, and pastoral care notes.
• Registration forms - when you fill a public registration form, the details you choose to submit are delivered to that church's approval queue.
• Technical data - basic device information (such as a browser identifier used to enforce the per-account device limit) and standard service logs.

How we use information

• To operate the service: directories, attendance tracking, statistics, birthdays, caretaking notes, and messaging templates for the church you belong to.
• To secure accounts: sign-in, session and device management, and abuse prevention.
• To support you when you contact us.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Google user data

If a church administrator connects Google Contacts, Churchverse creates contacts (name and meeting label) in that administrator's own Google account and keeps a record of which contacts it created so they are never duplicated. Churchverse only creates contacts - it does not read, edit, or delete existing contacts. Churchverse's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Where data is stored

Data is stored on Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Firebase Authentication) and is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access inside a church is limited to that church's authorized staff accounts.

Sharing

Your information is visible only to the authorized staff of the church community it belongs to, and to the infrastructure providers we rely on to run the service (Google Cloud / Firebase). We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention and deletion

Each church manages its own records: administrators can correct or permanently delete profiles, and deleting a profile removes its account history, memberships, and records. If you would like your data corrected or removed, contact your church's administrators, or email us at mina.william.work@gmail.com and we will help.

Children

Churchverse is used by youth ministries. Records for minors are created and managed by the church's staff as part of its ministry work, under the church's own responsibility and with the consent it obtains from parents or guardians.
