Privacy Policy

Who we are

Churchverse (churchverse.app) is a community management platform for churches: member directories, attendance, meetings, events, and communication. Each church that uses Churchverse controls its own community's data; Churchverse stores and processes that data on the church's behalf.

Information we collect

How we use information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Google user data

If a church administrator or meeting servant connects Google Contacts, Churchverse creates contacts (name, phone number, email address and a meeting label) in that person's own Google account, one contact group per meeting, and keeps a record of which contacts it created so they are never duplicated. When that person later presses the sync button after a roster change, Churchverse refreshes the name, phone number and email address of the contacts it created earlier; to do this it reads only those contacts and the names of the contact groups. Churchverse never reads, edits or deletes any contact it did not create, never deletes contacts, and stores nothing from the Google account except the identifiers of the contacts it created. The Google access token is used in the browser for the duration of the sync only and is never sent to or stored on our servers. Churchverse's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Where data is stored

Data is stored on Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Firebase Authentication) and is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access inside a church is limited to that church's authorized staff accounts.

Sharing

Your information is visible only to the authorized staff of the church community it belongs to, and to the infrastructure providers we rely on to run the service (Google Cloud / Firebase). We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention and deletion

Each church manages its own records: administrators can correct or permanently delete profiles, and deleting a profile removes its account history, memberships, and records. If you would like your data corrected or removed, contact your church's administrators, or email us at support@churchverse.app and we will help.

Children

Churchverse is used by youth ministries. Records for minors are created and managed by the church's staff as part of its ministry work, under the church's own responsibility and with the consent it obtains from parents or guardians.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service evolves; the effective date above always reflects the latest version. Questions or requests: support@churchverse.app.
